The development journey of the 2024 Lexus LC 500

The 2024 Lexus LC 500 represents the evolution of Lexus's grand touring flagship coupe, building on a lineage that began with the model's introduction in 2017. Crafted to embody the essence of a grand tourer from a bygone era, the LC 500 is reminiscent of classic luxury sports cars with its design and performance.

Lexus aimed to create an ideal grand tourer, drawing inspiration from iconic models such as the Bentley Continental GT. The car's exterior boasts a blend of old-school, long-hooded GT proportions and modern, angular styling. The cabin is meticulously adorned with semi-aniline blue and white leather, reflecting a commitment to luxury.

Under the hood, the LC 500 is powered by a 5.0-liter naturally-aspirated V-8, generating 471 horsepower and delivering a distinctive, raspy engine note. Despite its powerful performance and captivating design, the LC 500 has faced challenges in the market, struggling to match sales figures with its European competitors.

To address this, Lexus introduced updates for the 2024 model, enhancing the car's color options, infotainment system, and introducing a Bespoke Build option for greater customization. The Bespoke Build allows buyers to tailor their LC 500 with unique interior and exterior features, addressing the desire for personalization in the luxury car market.

While the LC 500 remains a solid GT with impeccable build quality and a reasonable price point compared to rivals, it faces the need for substantial updates to maintain competitiveness in a market filled with dynamic and continuously evolving offerings from other luxury automakers.
