The Series II incorporates a modernized look, new interior materials, and a vastly updated tech suite to thoroughly refresh Rolls' bestseller.

First Drive: 2025 Rolls-Royce Cullinan Seriers II

  • Six years after its unveiling, the Cullinan is still by far the brand’s best-seller
  • The Series II’s visual updates are plentiful and focused, although it may not seem so initially. The central theme here is verticality, drawing inspiration from traditional yachts and skyscraper designs.
  • The most significant update to the Series II’s cabin is the addition of a new Duality Twill fabric, replacing the leather-only the marque has relied on in recent decades. Made from bamboo fibers and incorporating an interlinked “RR” pattern, each cabin built with this new material will use more than 2.2 million stitches and 11 miles of thread, each taking around 20 hours to complete.
  • Setting off in the Series II through the perfectly paved winding mountain roads that make up the Island of Ibiza, piloting the refreshed Cullinan feels like a strikingly familiar affair. As noted earlier, most of its oily bits carry over from its predecessor. In standard form, its twin-turbocharged 6.75-liter V12 produces 563 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque, while that output rises to 600 hp and 664 lb-ft for the Black Badge. This allows for a 4.9-second sprint to 60 mph and an electronically limited 155-mph top speed.

  • While options will likely push its out-the-door price well past the $500,000 mark, six years on, there’s nothing to drive or ride in quite like the Rolls-Royce Cullinan.

The 2025 Rolls-Royce Cullinan Series II: A Strong Presence in the Luxury Market

The Rolls-Royce Cullinan’s 2018 debut marked a pivotal moment for the esteemed British carmaker. With the Cullinan, Rolls-Royce captured the daily driver market for the first time, with nearly all owners using the vehicle regularly. This shift not only increased the number of miles driven by Rolls-Royce vehicles but also attracted a younger demographic, with the average age of a Rolls-Royce owner dropping from 56 to 43 between 2010 and 2024.

The Cullinan quickly became Rolls-Royce's best-seller, thanks to the growing demand for luxurious, practical vehicles. The company's commitment to customer feedback has played a significant role in this success, allowing for continuous improvements and updates based on customer preferences.

The refreshed 2025 Rolls-Royce Cullinan Series II builds on this legacy by incorporating modernized aesthetics, new interior materials, and an updated tech suite. While the powerful twin-turbocharged 6.75-liter V12 engine and eight-speed automatic transmission remain unchanged, the Series II features a sportier design, with updates inspired by traditional yachts and skyscrapers. The new model starts at around $450,000, with the Black Badge variant priced at approximately $500,000.

Inside, the Series II offers luxurious materials and advanced technology, including a digital instrument cluster, an updated infotainment display, and a new Duality Twill fabric made from bamboo fibers. The Black Badge model adds unique Technical Carbon trim and an infinity logo.

The Cullinan Series II demonstrates Rolls-Royce’s commitment to maintaining its position at the top of the luxury SUV market by continuously evolving to meet the needs and desires of its discerning customers. By blending tradition with innovation, Rolls-Royce ensures that the Cullinan remains a symbol of unparalleled luxury and performance.

The Impact on the Luxury Market

The 2025 Rolls-Royce Cullinan Series II’s presence in the luxury market is significant. Its blend of high performance, sophisticated design, and cutting-edge technology appeals to affluent consumers who demand the best. This luxury SUV not only meets but exceeds the expectations of its buyers, ensuring that Rolls-Royce remains a dominant force in the market.

The Cullinan Series II’s success highlights the importance of adapting to market trends and customer feedback. For luxury brands, understanding and responding to consumer needs is crucial for maintaining relevance and desirability. Rolls-Royce's ability to attract younger buyers and retain its status as a leader in the luxury market serves as a testament to the brand's commitment to excellence and innovation.
